macbook-proHope all of you remember the fuss over iPhone’s non-removable battery? Well, last week Apple launched its new sealed-battery MacBook Pros and nobody was heard complaining. It seems probably Apple has included a lifetime-battery that would never ask for a replacement, lol. In any case, what to do if you need some extra backup? It’s simple use an external power pack.

Clearly, Apple is in no mood to annoy its inamoratas. The new MackBook Pros have been tested by AnandTech and it has been confirmed that the batteries last up to 50% longer. For more, the batteries continue to have the same weight. Now you might ask how is that possible. Well, its possible if you think differently like Apple. The concept is called Tessellation. Have a look at the picture of new and old  batteries used by Apple. It exposes that the batteries can squeezed into a small space, if space is not wasted using gaps. Moreover, the new batteries are square, unlike the old ones that are cylindrical.

The 13″ batteries offer a 30% boost where as the 15” is real ace. AnandTech kept the machine running for full eight hours before it was down, in fact it lasted for 8.13 hours after a minor test that involves Flash-less web browsing. For a more stressful battery consuming tests, the time declined,  Apple claims seven hours of life. This extra free bonus hour is simply great. This offers you a regular full-sized notebook.
