FLORIDA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Falcon 9 Rocket is awaiting its launch from Cape Canaveral. The rocket has been built at a huge cost and if the launch is successful it will be used in the future to take cargo and astronauts to the ISS. It is a venture of SpaceX or Space Exploration Technologies. It will carry a space capsule codenamed as dragon. Elon Musk, the co-founder of PayPal is the founder of this entity. NASA is also hopeful about this project. The millionaire said earlier in an interview that NASA should handover the technology to commercial entities so that space flight becomes a reality in near future.

Elon Musk thinks that the USA is at the verge of resurgence in space exploration and he compared it with the times when former US Presidents declared about men setting foot on the moon. President Barack Obama is also optimistic about more opportunistic space flights. The US government would like to see if commercial entities can conduct flights in space at lower cost and whether that becomes viable for regular operations too. NASA has zeroed in on Space X and another space research entity named Orbital Sciences to come up with an orbital shuttle each.

Space X is upbeat about the rocket launch but it is also aware about the chance of failure. However, for the launch that will take place on this Friday the chances of success are quite high. The test flight will consist of roughly 10 minutes and it will put the dragon in a 155 mile long orbit. There it will stay for a year.
