Summary Box: New BlackBerry phone
THE CHALLENGE: The BlackBerry’s grip on the corporate phone market may be slipping, as users are tempted by the iPhone and Android phones.
THE TOOL: Research In Motion Ltd., the company behind the phone, on Tuesday unveiled the Torch, the first BlackBerry with both a touch screen and a full-alphabet keyboard. It will be sold by AT&T Inc. starting Aug. 12.
THE UPSHOT: Analysts say the Torch is relatively conventional compared with RIM’s previous attempt at making a touch-screen phone, and it could stem the flow of people to flashier phones.
