Top 5 Reasons Why BSNL DataOne Broadband Sucks

1. They, for all purposes, do not have customer support:

  1. There is a number (1800-424-1600) but when there are problems in the line, nobody picks it up.
  2. In the rare cases when somebody does pickup and answer, they can never solve any problem. They will just take the complaint and give you a number.
  3. The complaints are never attended; they are silently closed.


2. The connection is very erratic; it goes down without reason and without any support to turn to, it gets very frustrating very soon. In short BSNL DataOne suffers from serious reliability issues

3. BSNL connectivity frequently goes down; so at least you can expect repaid service availability 24/7. Unfortunately on weekends no repairs are done. So if the connection is down during the weekend, then you have no option but to wait till Monday noon before some action is taken.
BSNL doesn’t get the concept of 24/7 broadband connectivity. It expects people to feel that broadband is a luxury and be happy with whatever scrap (crap?) BSNL throws at him.

4. BSNL installation staff are clueless about variations of Operating Systems and environments. Beyond their inane script they are totally clueless and lost. Even guiding them doesn’t help. You are on your own.

5. BSNL offers brain-dead plans like 2Mbps connection with only 1 GB data (download + upload) limit. Subsequent data is charged at 23$ / GB (.90 Rs / MB).

you are correct, i have problems with bsnl.

Previously I had a data one connection. For the last three months, I am using airtel 256/799rs. unlimited. I am very much satisfied.(speed get doubled in night time[512kbps]). Wharever you have mentioned about bsnl is true.

Data One Plans are very clever for example
its happen to me, i was in the Home Plan 250 at that time my connection speed is 512kbps now i changed to the Home UL 900 Plus here i am facing the speed of min 112kbps upto 220kbps its a very head ace for me to work in this like this these people are cheating to us no body will take the action against this all know well about this fellows of BSNL BROAD BAND

You are right.Also they done crappy issues to binding the port.Due to this you can’t able to connect BSNL apart from the your telephone where it is located.If someone is travel through india,and if he willing to connect through laptop Wi-fi. it can’t possible.Dismiss all uneducated employees from BSNL and appoint technical guys who knows the importance of internet to ensure to connect the broadband whereever wi-fi is enabled.
