Twitter Explains Recent Phishing Attacks, Need for Changing Your Password

Social networking and microblogging service site Twitter is reportedly facing a phishing attack recently, as per reports from blogs and news sites. The attack may be targeted to steal a user’s sensitive log-in information.
CNET reported that, the passwords for an unknown number of users had to be reset because of the attack by Twitter on Tuesday.
According to Twitter “As part of Twitter’s ongoing security efforts, we reset passwords for a small number of accounts that we believe may have been compromised offsite,”
Twitter Co-founder Biz Stone also noted in a January blog post, that some Web sites may be trying to masquerade as Twitter.com in an attempt to steal users’ password information. He warned “If you receive a direct message or a direct message e-mail notification that redirects to what looks like Twitter.com — don’t sign in. Look closely at the URL because it could be a scam,” as reported to CNN
