Twitter Ups New Mobile Site

Are you one of the Twitter users who accesses it through mobile phone? There’s an exciting news for you. Twitter’s revamped mobile site had a curtain raiser today. Currently, Twitter’s mobile team has built a brand new mobile web client from scratch, using only Twitter APIs. For now they have released the preview. The new mobile Twitter site works smoothly with Webkit browser, which is available on most mobiles phones including Android, iPhone, Nokia S60 and Palm Web OS phones. All of them come with these browsers installed. Some other browsers like that of Blackberry also works, but not as smoothly as you would expect.Let’s find out what’s new in Twitter’s new mobile site
The old site is still visible at site https://m.twitter.com. But, the Twitter blog assures,
As this preview becomes ready for prime-time, we will start switching everyone who uses ‘m’ in phases to automatically receive the new mobile web client.
What’s most surprising is that the mobile site doesn’t appear to feature the lists yet. Apart from that, the attention to detail is rich. It includes the new retweets. However, most of you might still stick to your favorite Tweetie and Tweetdeck, except to take a quick-peek at new Twitter.
