XBox 360 is an Energy Hog
By Angsuman Chakraborty, Gaea News NetworkMonday, June 19, 2006
XBox 360 consumes 145 Watts simply turned on. Compare that with 4W for Playstation 1. What about when you are playing with them? Let’s see how they are going to cost you in energy bills each year.
XBox 360 consumes 165 Watts while playing one single player race. PS1 consumes 6 Watt in comparison.
Assuming you play on average 14 hours a week or 2 hours a day and you leave your console turned on, you will spend around 20$ on your XBox 360 (116.48 kWh). A Playstation 1 will cost you less than a dollar.

This is a ridiculous comparison. You need to compare the XBOX 360 to a PS3!! You guys comparing a 360 to a PS1 is like me comparing an original XBOX which consumes 100 watts to a PS3 which consumes 200 watts. Bottom line, compare items to other equal items. |

Have you given any thought to why it used so much energy? It has very powerful PowerPC processors and graphics card. Sure you can go play your Al gore friendly Psone if you want, but would you rather save some energy with PS1 graphics or have a power hungry yet realistic 360. You can’t have both. And don’t forget how much energy your TV uses |

This is so lame. No one plays the playstation one anymore. I doubt anyone has it. Its so cheap because it was made in the 90’s and graphiscs and stuff were horrible back then. Dont waste your time beleiving this shit. |
