Why is yahoo.com getting hotter and hotter today? Starting with status update for Facebook on Yahoo.mail, the tech major has roped in Michael Calderone, the eminent Politico media reporter. Calderone will be leaving his media blog at WinTheMorning.com for a new role in Yahoo News. It’s hard to take that a site like news.yahoo.com thriving with 40 million visitors would need a reporter, Calderone.

Recently Yahoo boss Carol Bartz had dropped a hint that New York Observer one of (Calderone’s former employers) that news.yahoo requires “our own editorial voice on our site.”

Calderone would be leaving Politico within a weeks to join Yahoo News’ original content project. The project is overseen by blogging editor Andrew Golis. Chris Lehmann and “Cajun Boy” Brett Michael Dykes also recently joined the project.

Even if, Calderone’s joining Yahoo lacks an argument, but his quitting Politico has an answer.

With a number of switch-overs from Politico - features editor Pia Catton left to join the Wall Street Journal, Patrick O’Connor left to join Bloomberg, and Victoria McGrane left to join Newswires - Calderone’s withdrawal might have more to do with site accused of racism after CNN’s sources exposing an editorial meeting full of white men.

Whatever be the reason news.yahoo.com has bagged celebrated name in New York media.
