How to Achieve Windows Vista-Style Taskbar in Windows 7 in Two Simple Steps

Whatever be the bugs, Windows Vista reigned supreme in one category and that was its looks. Anything that looks good sells. And so did Vista though sadly without any substance within. Anyway, those who have looked into Windows 7, perhaps found it a bit disappointing because it doesn’t have that look of Windows Vista. Well, you can not recreate a beauty but certainly you can come close to that. here are two simple steps to take you through just that.

Step- I:

  • Right-click on the taskbar
  • Choose the properties dialog.
  • Select the small icons checkbox

Step- II

  • Under the taskbar buttons setting,
  • Choose combine when taskbar is full. It’s not pixel-perfect in accuracy, but it’s close from a functionality point of view.

With these two you will feel home to Windows Vista’s taskbar look. Enjoy. You can add some tips too if you like in this regard.

Skip this part”Select the small icons checkbox” and follow the rest of the instrutions for the same affect except the icons are large. Thanks

Wow, it was just what I was looking for. I really dislike large icons because then I have less viewing space for art. Thank you for the solution!
