Check Point Software posts jump in 2Q earnings
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. reported a 36 percent jump in second-quarter earnings Wednesday, boosted by revenue growth.
The results pushed Check Point up 74 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $33.98 in premarket trading.
The company, which makes Internet security software, booked net income of $102.9 million, or 48 cents per share, up from $75.6 million, or 36 cents per share, a year earlier.
Stripping out one-time expenses, the company said it would have earned 58 cents per share, two cents better than the average forecast from analysts, according to Thomson Reuters.
Revenue climbed 17 percent to $261.1 million. That also topped the average estimate of $253.6 million.
“The growth in revenues came from all main product lines and geographies,” CEO Gil Shwed said in a statement.
