CIT Group, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft are big movers

CIT Group Inc., down 18 cents at $1.35
Despite indications of government support, shares of the troubled lender sank as talks with regulators on help raising capital continued.
Goldman Sachs Group Inc., up $7.57 at $149.44
Analyst Meredith Whitney, famous for her pessimistic calls, upgraded the investment bank to a “buy” a day before its earnings release.
American Dairy Inc., down $15.77 at $20.08
The Chinese infant formula supplier said it expected sales for the year to be at least 12 percent short of analysts’ expectations.
Intrepid Potash Inc., down 50 cents at $22.98
Reports of a cheaper-than-expected Indian potash contract led analysts to slash estimates and ratings on the fertilizer sector.

Microsoft Corp., up 84 cents at $23.23
The software giant issued Office 2010 for previews and said test versions of free Web-based programs would be ready in August.
CardioNet Inc., down $2.96 at $5.87
The wireless heart-monitoring device maker withdrew its guidance, saying it faced cuts of nearly a third in Medicare reimbursements.
Charming Shoppes Inc., up 15 cents at $3.77
The clothing retailer said it had stopped thinking about a sale of its Figi’s food business and named several new executives.
OSI Pharmaceuticals Inc., up $2.39 at $30.83
The drug developer said its cancer treatment Tarceva helped improve overall survival rates of lung cancer patients in a late-stage study.
