LONDON - A conman posing as Prince Harry on social media website Facebook has diverted donations from a charity the prince had created in memory of his late mother Princess Diana.

The identity theft has cost the prince thousands of pounds intended to help African orphans, reports the Daily Star.

The fraudster is understood to have tricked more than 20 women in the United States, who sent donations to the charity.

He faked the 26-year-old’s signature by copying it from a message left on a wreath at Ground Zero in New York.

One victim Carolyn Nelson, 65, from Florida, lost 1,584 pounds after sending it to the fake Harry through a fake account in West Africa. (ANI)
