Tesla Motors to open store in Paris next week
NEW YORK — Tesla Motors Inc. will open a store in Paris next week in time for the city’s biannual motor show.
The electric vehicle maker said Tuesday that the store will serve customers in France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
“The Paris store provides an immediate, highly visible presence in one of Europe’s most important cities,” George Blankenship, vice president of design and store development, said in a statement.
Tesla, known for its Roadster sports car, will have 14 showrooms worldwide with the addition of the Paris store.
Tesla’s Roadster is the only vehicle it currently sells. The two-seater electric sports car costs more than $100,000. The Roadster plugs into any conventional socket and can be charged with solar, hydro or wind energy.
Tesla, which began selling shares to the public in June, is based in Palo Alto, Calif.
