HP completes deal for Fortify Software
PALO ALTO, Calif. — Hewlett-Packard Co. has completed its deal to buy Fortify Software.
The company announced last month it would by the privately held cyber security firm to enhance its cyber security offerings.
Terms were not disclosed.
Fortify, based in San Mateo, Calif., helps businesses identify and fix security weaknesses in their computer systems. HP and Fortify began marketing their software security technology as a package last year.
HP said in announcing the deal last month that it would run Fortify as a standalone business before integrating the company into its broader software division.
It said Wednesday that details on product integration will follow later.
Shares of Hewlett-Packard fell 37 cents to $39.55.
