Twitter is up and healthy now. It was only hours ago that the microblogging ace was hacked and defaced carrying a message from the Iranian Cyber Army. It sounds as if Iranian fundamentalists have planned to drop their army to adopt a cyber-war strategy, but why a microblogging site like Twitter.. lol. From what it seems, the hack was an act of Cyber terrorism showing off Iranian Cyber Army’s desperado. With Twitter hacked, status.twitter.com, and other parts of the service remained down. From the latest speculation by TechCrunch, the incident was a DNS redirect which means that the Twitter.com domain has been redirected to the defacement page. However, it was not clear why the sub domains werre down, while Twitter search was running.
The hacked site had the following message and pictures below
Iranian Cyber Army

This is the latest in Twitter’s series of security snags. In a recent event, their web servers were misconfigured to reveal detailed internal network information. Back in July, Twitter was suffering with a bug that made it easy for anyone to access the Twitter servers directly. In an attempt to beef up its security, Twitter hired a a number of security experts including a new COO Dick Costolo.
It’s time to repeat the parody - don’t use the same password for all your login accounts. Once your favorite site is hacked, your password is compromised and you have a world of insecurities to live in. On Twitter’s part we can expect them nip the bud for its over 12 million users in US, before its too late.
