NIIT to provide Infrastructure Management Training, collaborated with Microsoft, Sun, Cisco, EMC

NEW DELHI - IT training and talent development provider NIIT has partnered with industry stakeholders to provide certified training in infrastructure management services (IMS), the company said Friday. IMS broadly refers to the development and maintenance of networking system of an organisation. NIIT has collaborated with Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, EMC Corporation and Kuvempu University for the course certification. NIIT chief executive Vijay Thadani said the demand for skilled “employable” manpower in the IMS sphere is increasing.
“India will face the shortage of over 100,000 skilled workers for infrastructure deployment by the end of this year. We hope to bridge the demand by providing certified training,” he said.
Thadani was citing a National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) report which highlighted a demand for 325,000 skilled personnel in the IMS industry.
Currently Indian IT industry directly employees about 2.3 million people out of which 200,000 are employed in infrastructure and IT development sphere.
