Pericom Semiconductor names financial chief

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Chip maker Pericom Semiconductor Corp. said Monday that Aaron Tachibana, former chief financial officer of Asyst Technologies Inc., will join the company as CFO.

Tachibana, 49, also assumes the title of senior vice president of finance

He succeeds Angela Chen, who requested to relocate back to Asia for personal reasons. She assumes the title of senior vice president for finance in Asia, and will direct the company’s finance and accounting functions in the region.

Tachibana joined Asyst in June 2004 as division controller and became CFO in August 2008.

Pericom shares fell 5 cents to close at $9.68.
