katemooreLet your kid text during dinner! Let your kid text during school! It pays off.

This is what 15-year-old Kate Moore uttered after cruising through 250,000 competitors to win the LG U.S. National Texting Championship. Believe it or not, the teenager with extraordinary thumbing speed sends a whacking 14,000 text messages per month. No regrets, her habit let her win £30,500, so you can get down to practice just now and maybe you become the next texting champ, lol. That’s not an easy cup of tea as you think, the competition tested speed, accuracy, texting know-how and acronyms. Kate had to get past 20 finalist across the country in a two day long competition that involved blindfolded texting.

Kate had a thumb-to-thumb fight with Dynda Morgan, 14, of Savannah in the final clash of three rounds showdown that measured their speed of texting lengthy messages with minimal errors. The third round was a tie breaker, in which both the teens had to text

Zippity Dooo Dahh Zippity Ayy…MY oh MY, what a wonderful day! Plenty of sunshine Comin’ my way…Zippity Do Dah Zippity Aay! WondeRful Feeling Wonderful day!

Well, after all this when Kate was asked whether her thumbs hurt, she cracked up to say,

Hahah not at all! Ud b surprised they don’t get stressed out,

That’s some crazy feat… and 30,500 pounds for that! I’d better go practice my texting ability. Just because I want to win that big prize too.
