NEW DELHI - A day after he was publicly reproached by his senior colleague S M Krishna, Union Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday commented on Twitter that he had missed brouhaha on the issue.

Tharoor, however refused to add anything to his earlier comments.

In his latest post on social networking site Twitter Tharoor said: “Was travelling out of range and missed brouhaha. Now that EAM (External Affairs Minister) Krishnaji, whom I respect, has spoken, I hv (have) nothing 2 (to) add. Will discuss visa issue w (with) him.”

On Monday, Krishna had dubbed Tharoor for questioning the tightening of visa rules and asked him to discuss his “perceptions within four walls of the government rather than in public.”

Tharoor also thanked his followers in the network for supporting him on the issue.

“But thanks for all the kind words over the last 24hrs. Appreciate the support!,” he stated.

On Saturday, Tharoor questioned the tightening of visa rules in the backdrop of the David Headley case by posting a tweet.

“Issue is not security vs tourism, but whether visa restrictions protect our security,” Tharoor had tweeted.

Wondering whether the new visa norms for foreign nationals made any sense at all and if it would actually protect security Tharoor had added, “26/11 killers had no visas.” (ANI)
