Does Foosball Increase Productivity?

At Doubletwist, last company I worked for before starting my own business, had couple of Foosball table. Personally I found them very entertaining but also somewhat addictive. Recently I was contemplating buying a Tornado Foosball table (professional quality) for my office. My initial thought was that it should improve productivity by providing relaxing light entertainment. A close friend of mine, who shall remain unnamed, strongly opposed the idea. He thinks it is actually a productivity killer.

At Doubletwist I had seen players like Kamal reaching a high degree of excellence in Foosball. However that meant they spent quite a lot of time at the table. It then become an alternative channel for your precious energies. Is that desirable and productive?

What do you think? Is Foosball a productivity killer for software developers?

PS. Still now I don’t know how to properly execute a snake shot, do you?
