Finally Facebook updates its iPhone app to Facebook 3.0. In the recent past, we had mentioned about the submission of Facebook app to iPhone store. It had a hype then considering one great service is kissing another great device. But, as we see it now, its all quiet on the western front. Because frankly, if you ask me, there is nothing much to go ga ga about. Its just another app update with nothing REALLY special to say OMG!

Features of Facebook 3.0 for iPhone

1. The most significant improvement may not be in the offering of something new. Its in the enhanced usability, navigation and appearance. The home screen shows a 3-by-3 grid which makes it like the usual and cleaner interface.
2. The app’s main screen is similar to the iPhone’s home screen. You can swipe left/right for another page where you can add news feeds of your friends and Facebook pages you navigate to.
3. A button to add photo or video is placed at the top left.
4. You can write and read notes from your friends and change your profile picture. The best part of this app update is, it gives you complete control over a lotta things.
5. News Feeds need a special mention. Perhaps its the most improved space in this update feature. You can now easily Like and Comment to posts. Click on the blue + button on the right of a post and  slidescreen slides over to let you in.

What could have been New: Facebook 3.0 for iPhone

1. One of the most anticipated feature was PUSH NOTIFICATION. Its not included. So, sadly, you will have to rely on SMS/ e-mail alert to get news updates and notification.
2. Also, you can’t view friends’ videos unless its uploaded on Youtube and you are ready to see them through the browser. Not from the app sorry.

Conclusion

Facebook 3.0 for iPhone is not a significant update but its not something to overlook either. An honest effort to make things more usable and easy-integration with social networking is quite evident. Its worth a download even if its not a must have.
