Hi-Tech Pharmacal says FDA clears Tropazone lotion

AMITYVILLE, N.Y. — Hi-Tech Pharmacal Co. said Thursday it received marketing approval for a prescription lotion called Tropazone for dermatitis — or skin rash.

The company said the Food and Drug Administration cleared Tropazone, and it plans to start marketing the drug in February.

Tropazone is intended to treat atopic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis and radiation dermatitis, among other conditions.

It will be marketed by Hi-Tech’s ECR subsidiary starting in February. In morning trading, Hi-Tech shares rose 93 cents, or 3.3 percent, to $29.42.
