you have to check whether the DNS Server and DNS Client services are running on your PC before flushdns

Login as administrator before running the command.

Restart obviously works :)

I have the same problem as Susan exactly. Was it ever resolved?

Are you logged in as administrator?

I tried it (except that XP Run brings up Documents and Settings etc. after C: ) and got err msg: Could not flush DNS Resolver cache. Function failed to complete. - or something like that. What should I try? I was told that I could not use the Repair feature for my LAN until I flushed the DNS cache. I don’t need to do that now but thought I’d try it anyway. Appreciate the help.

In server side, we can restart the DNS service to flush the DNS
