How To Read Reader’s Digest, PlayBoy, Popular Photography, Popular Mechanics, MacWorld, Penthouse, PC Magazine Free on Firefox Browser

You can read popular magazines like Reader’s Digest, PlayBoy, Popular Photography, Popular Mechanics, Technology Review, Viv, Car & Driver, Penthouse, PC Magazine, MacWorld, Esquire and more (total 20 high quality magazines) for free online. You can read the full magazines without any restrictions on any web browser. Here is how you can easily configure Firefox to read them:

1. Install User Agent switcher Add-on for Firefox, if you do not have it already, and restart the browser.
2. Now go to Tools -> User Agent Switcher -> Options -> Options
3. Click on User Agents and then click on Add…
4. Fill in the fields as follows:
   • Description: iPhone
   • User Agent: Mobile Safari 1.1.3 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en)
   • App Name: AppleWebKit/420+ (KHTML, like Gecko)
   • App Version: Version/3.0
   • Platform: Mobile/1A542a Safari/419.3
   • Vendor:
   • Vendor Sub:
5. Now click OK and then OK again. You have now created an user agent for iPhone.
6. Now go back to Tools -> User Agent Switcher and click iPhone.
7. Now browse to https://imgs.zinio.com/iphone/ and read all the popular magazines for free!

Note: The above idea is much simplified from Amit’s original idea which required installing Safari browser and more!

Zinio transforms quality print magazines into digital format with same content and same design and delivers over the Internet to your desktop. Obviously this is a bug in Zinio’s magazine delivery mechanism for iPhone users which can be exploited by any internet user on any browser. I expect them to fix it very soon.

Note: The above procedure is simply a proof-of-concept for exposing the weakness in Zinio’s system. I do not recommend that you use it.
