iPhone OS 3.2 expected new features: Video Calling, File Downloads and SMS

In exciting leak a day ago, iPhone OS 3.2 would-be features were uncovered. Engadget confirmed from trusted sources that iPhone OS 3.2 would include support for video calling. This could explain that mysterious space at the top of the device. There are hooks to accept and decline video conferencing, and flip a video feed, which is more than a hint to expect a front facing camera. Most importantly run the video call in either full screen mode or you might run a portion on the screen. It would allow users to run chat as well as other application at the same time. It’s sounds like some sort of multi-tasking as Engadget suggests.

Additionally, file downloading and local storage in the browser could be a great feature. The files downloaded will be accessible by all applications. This would mean that you could easily grab a song off the internet and actually save it on your iPhone. Another interesting finding is the beginning of SMS support buried in the code. The iPhone OS 3.2 will have a spellchecker with multiple dictionaries and user-added entries. What’s more to expect from the iPhone - a new landscape orientation for homescreen and keyboard support.
