Mini Scare with jBPM

While reading the jBPM (Workflow management software) documentation I got a mini scare with the line “The directory structure of the sub projects core, tools & ejb complies with the maven directory layout”.

It brought back all my bad memories with Maven, so much so I thought about switching without even giving jBPM a fair trial. I know that sounds biased and I am only as far as Maven is concerned. It just makes a simple thing pretty complicated. And I hate unnecessary complications.

Today however I am lucky. Sanity was restored in the next line itself - “Note that only ant is used for the build process. We just use the same directory structure as in a maven project. ”

What a relief! Now back to evaluating workflow management systems.
