Playboy, Weyerhaeuser, Aon among big movers

NEW YORK — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

Aon Corp., down $2.72 at $35.62

The insurance broker plans to buy human resources company Hewitt Associates for $4.9 billion to expand its consulting operations.

Playboy Enterprises Inc., up $1.61 at $5.55

Founder Hugh Hefner wants to buy the rest of the media empire’s shares and take it private in a deal valuing the company at $185 million.

Weyerhaeuser Co., up $3.02 at $38.86

The lumber company will distribute $5.6 billion to shareholders through a special dividend, a required step for converting to a REIT.

NASDAQ

Micrus Endovascular Corp., up $1 at $23.19

Johnson & Johnson will pay $480 million for the medical device maker, a 5.5 percent premium to its closing price Friday.

Acxiom Corp., down $1.14 at $13.43

A Baird analyst downgraded the marketing company, saying weak spending on services in June could last throughout the year.

Vivus Inc., down 87 cents at $10.65

The FDA is expected to post its review of the drugmaker’s weight-loss pill Qnexa and will meet Thursday to go over the data.

YRC Worldwide Inc., up 9.4 cents at 20.6 cents

The troubled truckying company said it expects second-quarter results to improve as shipments pick up.

Qualcomm Inc., up $1.19 at $35.10

A Goldman Sachs analyst said the chip maker will benefit from a growing market for smart phones and particularly demand for Android-based phones.
