AMETHI - Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has launched 3G services in his parliamentary constituency of Amethi.
Rahul said telecommunication services have played an important role in the development of the country and are successfully bridging the gap between the rich and the poor.
“I remember that my father, when he was alive, he used to get recommendations for phone line connections. Today, everyone has a cellphone. It has reached villages and this work was done by Rajiv Gandhi and Sam Pitroda. Because of this, the entire country has been connected through phone,” said Rahul Gandhi.
“Earlier, there used to be One India, - India comprising of the poor. Slowly, we have progressed and today, there are many in the country who have an opportunity. There are also some who do not have opportunity, and in the coming days, it will be our common task to make One India,” he added.
During the three-day visit, Rahul Gandhi will also meet party workers, Youth Congress activists and attend other programmes. By Rajul Nigam (ANI)
