Sprint Announced its First 4G Phone

Sprint unveiled its first 4G Mobile Phone at CTIA 2010 in Nevada, USA. The HTC phone has a 4.3 inch screen and it is designed for video viewing and Web browsing. The device is 30 percent bigger than the screen of the iPhone, Sprint said. The handset, has a 8 megapixel camera for taking photos and video and a second camera in the front for video chatting and it runs on Google Inc software. Sprint is expected to launch this device in this summer. The device is considered to be the first commercial 4G handset from a big carrier.
Other feature includes Bluetooth, Wi-fi, 1GB of internal memory, Assisted-GPS with Sprint Navigation, seven home screens, a personal organizer, a microSD card slot that can accommodate cards up to 32GB, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, an HDMI out port, access to Google apps, Sprint TV, messaging, and Outlook Exchange support for e-mail. It also has a 3.5mm headset, a micro-USB port , a power control, and a volume rocker.
The handset will support Sprint’s CDMA network, and the WiMax network serviced by Clearwire Corp, in which Sprint has a stake of approximately 56 percent. Analysts guessed that the code name of the phone is going to be Supersonic. Although the phone is designed for WiMax service. But, according to Sprint, users with older network will also be able to use the phone.
