WHAT’S NEW: Other programs allow free calling between computers. Some allow free, but short calls to regular phone numbers. Google Voice provides free calls but uses up your minutes if you’re using a cell phone. MagicTalk eliminates fees for calls to phones in the U.S. and Canada, with no time limits.
HOW CAN IT DO IT: VocalTec operates as a phone company, so it can charge other phone companies for calls placed to magicTalk and magicJack numbers.
