Windows Phone 7 will have Xbox Live: iPhone’s no game

Apple iPhone remains the most dominant smartphone, given its myriads of apps, good for everything.  But, Windows Phone 7 includes Microsoft’s indomitable gaming platform Xbox. Microsoft will introduce the most compelling entertainment asset Xbox 360 into the Windows Phone 7 series. This implies Windows Phone 7 will be the first and only phone to offer Xbox Live experience including Xbox Live games, Spotlight feed, as well as the ability to view a gamer’s avatar, achievements and gamer profile. Xbox Live has more than 23 million active members around, which the Windows Phone 7 Series users can rely on.

As is clear from Microsoft’s demo, Xbox Live in Windows Phone 7 has been tweaked a bit.  The Spotlight section will have your Xbox Live avatar and details of friends’ achievements.   The section will also include premium titles with achievements and multiplayer connected to other cell phones, PCs, and Xbox 360 consoles.

The Xbox Live interface might be simple, but has much more than your avatar on one more screen. Windows Phone 7 will show three types of games.

  • The first type of game might be like the iPhone title. Powerful pocket hardware will push impressive graphics.
  • The second type of games will be the ones which will be released cross platform. It will allow casual, connected titles enabling users wiith a Live account to join in (no matter if they’re on a WP7, 360, or PC)
  • In the third type of game we expect the games that would appeal to the hard-core gamers. It could be the Xbox 360 expanded title, something Microsoft is yet to declare, but surely it will turn heads.

While iPhone is phenomenon, as it allows an array of poketable amusements, but it’s one phone. Windows Phone 7 Series is a specification (including the hardware and software specs) for many phones that could potentially designed for many carriers. Given the unique gaming platform, Microsoft needs to develop compelling mobile content to woo the consumers.

Nice try. Good luck in the next TOEIC test. Work on your grammar and practice reading so as to use less obscure words. You can do it! Just one tip though, never begin a sentence with ‘but’.

cheers,
