Finally, First Phase of Server Migration Over!

Whew! Finally I have transferred my site to a sparkling new dedicated server.

It was a very eventful journey. Lots of challenges were overcome and I learned a lot. I will share some of it in the coming days.

There are still a lot to be done but at least the websites are usable and loading from the new server. I am going to take a well deserved break now.

Linux is ugly and beautiful. It takes you through paces and yet when I get it done I am satisfied at the cleanliness of the solution.

Please let me know asap if you notice any problems with any of our sites.

WordPress migration was painless. Mambo migration was a pain as I had to manually modify the sql dump files to quote fields with reserved named.

PS. Opps: Despite all my precautions I made a snafu in DNS and this site was unavailable for around 30 minutes.
