Google has been focusing on real-time search for quite sometime now. The search engine giant has added content from MySpace, Facebook and Buzz, expanded to 40 languages to allowing users most relevant content shared on update services such as Twitter. For the latest, Goolge introduces a new feature that will enable users to search and explore the public archive of tweets.
Now onwards Google allows you to zoom to any point of time and “replay” what people have tweeted about a topic. Replaying the tweets you will be able to explore any topic that people have discussed on Twitter. Tweets that broke about health care legislation in Congress, comments about Justice Paul Stevens’ retirement or what people are tweeting during a winter Olympics. Not just this there’s more to it, but first let’s see how you access the Twitter archive
Step 1: Click on the Show options on the search results page and select the Updates
Step 2: As you know Google’s first page shows the latest short-form updates, now there’s a new chart at the top. In the chart select the year, month or day, or click any point to view the tweets from that specific time period
In the time chart shows the relative volume of activity on Twitter about the topic. On replaying the tweets you can explore any topic that people discussed on Twitter.
The replay feature has been rolled out now and will be available globally in English within the next couple days.
In case, you wanna early hands-on experience, try it out here.
