gmailAt times you receive emails from authentic mailing list and mark it as spam, since its of no interest to you. What if you could escape these undesired messages by automatically unsubscribing to the messages. Although most of the undesired messages are filtered to Spam by Gmail but the user preferences may vary. While you may not want to read a messages sent by a certain company or mailing list, others might find it valuable. To ease your burden of managing the undesired messages you don’t want to receive, Gmail provides an easy solution.

Gmail offers an unsubscribe tool for some messages to solve your problem. Now when you mark a message from particular types of mailing lists as a spam, you’ll see an unsubscribe tool. In case a particular message is an unwanted entry in you mailing list, Report it as a spam as you usually do. In case, you don’t wanna receive another message or newsletter from that list again, simply click on Unsubscribe. Gmail will send request to the sender that your email address be removed from the list.

Remember that the mailing lists might take even three days to process your unsubscription request. Further, you need to note that Gmail won’t provide Unsubscribe option for all mailing lists. Rest assured, Gmail would not display Unsubscribe for lists that are known to be owned by spammers. In case, if the unsubscribe is not provided for a particular newsletter or mailing list that you rely on, look into the actual message for unsubscribe options.

I have had situations where unsubscribe has not worked with certain sites.
