IBM buys network software firm Intelliden
ARMONK, N.Y. — IBM has acquired network automation software firm Intelliden Inc., the company said Tuesday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Intelliden’s software lets telecommunications companies manage their networks by automating the configuration of hubs, routers and switches. The company said more than 60 percent of network outages are caused by manual configuration mistakes.
Intelliden, a privately held company based in Menlo Park, Calif., will be folded into IBM Tivoli software, which is a part of the IBM Software Group.
Shares of IBM Corp., based in Armonk, N.Y., rose 40 cents to $124.40.
