MySpace hires revenue chief; iLike execs promoted

LOS ANGELES — MySpace is naming a former MTV Networks ad sales executive to a top role, while promoting the founders of recently acquired site iLike to senior positions.

News Corp.’s social networking hub said Wednesday it hired Nada Stirratt to become chief revenue officer. CEO Owen Van Natta said she will focus on evolving the company’s advertising products.

The Partovi brothers, who founded a music recommendation service called iLike, are also moving up.

Former iLike CEO Ali Partovi will serve as senior vice president of business development in San Francisco, while former President Hadi Partovi will remain at iLike’s headquarters in Seattle as senior vice president of technology to further merge the businesses.

MySpace recently closed on the purchase of iLike, a popular music application on rival Facebook, for $20 million.
