State: Cougar reported on Microsoft campus

REDMOND, Wash. — Wildlife officials say there has been a report of a cougar wandering Microsoft’s campus in Redmond.

Capt. Bill Hebner (HEEB’-ner) of the state Department of Fish and Wildlife says employees of the software company contacted his agency to report the sighting.

Hebner says agents have not been able to talk to the reporting party and have not confirmed the report. He says agents don’t think there is any immediate threat to the public.

Redmond police say Microsoft security personnel also reported on Thursday that a cougar had been seen, but later said it was a coyote.
