Summary Box: Sprint’s new ‘4G’ phone
THE PITCH: Sprint Nextel Corp. wants to promote video calling with the first phone for its WiMax, or 4G, network. The Evo 4G is a touch-screen phone and lands this summer.
THE REASON: Sprint needs something special to promote its 4G network. Without video calling, the Evo is just a big, fast smart phone.
WHAT WE DON’T KNOW: What the phone and service will cost. Will Sprint dare to charge a premium for 4G access?
