CHENNAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- With Independence Day round the corner, it is celebration time for most across the country and joining the celebration mood is the country’s most popular and largest telecommunication network Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. With a large number of offers introduced by BSNL in the recent past, there is yet another one, though the latest can be enjoyed solely by subscribers in the Tamil Nadu telecom circle.
BSNL has made an announcement notifying the users in Tamil Nadu about the new offer of free 2G GSM sim cards available all around the southern Indian state. The offer which has hit mobile stores across Tamil Nadu will be available till the end of next month, reported BSNL authorities. Interested customers can also visit the nearest BSNL Customer Service Center in any place in the Tamil Nadu circle.
The new BSNL Independence Day offer of free sim cards comes armed with a total of 2000 local and national SMSs to any network within the Indian boundary, as well as 50 MB Mobile Internet Data usage (GPRS) absolutely free of cost. However if a customer has to make complete use of the free package, he is to do so within a month of purchase of the free BSNL sim card.
This offer from BSNL comes in the wake of reports of the telecom network facing a loss of $390 million for the first time in the ten years that it was first created. The state owned telecommunication network has blamed the annual loss on less revenues from tariff reductions and high expenditure on the part of the company as a result of the sudden rise in wages of employees.
