MANGALORE, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Google logo on its homepage today is different from what we usually see everyday. It is undoubtedly a new doodle. However, this doodle is not meant for paying respect to any technological event or celebrating the birthday of any celebrity. This is a doodle that has been created by a 14-year-old school boy of India and his design has been selected as the best doodle by the Internet search giant. The doodle represents the emerging India. The creator of this award-winning doodle is a boy named Akshay Raj who hails from Mangalore. He studies in Class IX of St. Aloysius High School. It is a matter of pride for his school and family since the doodle that he created was selected over other 108,000 doodles. This is indeed a huge honor and achievement for him

Google India said in its statement that the choice was made on “artistic merit, creativity, and expression of the theme.” The student will be awarded with a Technology Starter Package. He will also take home a technology grant worth INR 200000. The winner was picked by the original Google Doodler and noted graphic artist Dennis Hwang. Meanwhile, Mamatha Rajesh, the mother of the student told a media entity that the boy along with his father has reached Mumbai to collect the award. The headmaster of the school where the boy studies is also very happy with his achievement and so are his friends and classmates.

The fact that the theme for the doodle was made in India has grabbed huge attention in the country. Akshay Raj’s entry won over 41 semi finalists. Google got a huge number of submission for this contest.
