PubSub Search Down; PubSub Too?

PubSubLately whenever I am checking my blog stats in PubSub, I am getting “blog.taragana.com” has not been active in the past 30 days.. blog.taragana.com has been very much active during this time. On a hunch I tried to find blog activity of popular blogs like Scobelizer or GoogleBlog. They too haven’t been active in the last 30 days according to PubSub!

Does anyone at PubSub even care anymore after its massive layoffs and subsequent struggle and meltdown.

Last year I had predicted that RSS Push Model (ex. PubSub) is not viable in long run. It appears I wasn’t far off the mark. The spat between the founders would have been a non-issue if there were sufficient backing behind their technology. If memory serves me right PubSub was well advertised by Scoble and other A-listers which goes to show that hype, even by internet-think-tanks, do not often match the ground reality.

I opine that to get the loans from banks you should have a good reason. But, one time I’ve got a short term loan, because I was willing to buy a bike.

Business still comes down to business, and business models are still about monetizing revenue (pardon the redundancy). While hobby sites are great, and I’m all for it, those who want to monetize something with RSS have to think more creatively than aggregating content on behalf of potential customers. Better to sign up the customers first! :) Also, see this reprieve from GigaOM.
