Top New Features of Google Chrome 2.0

It was dote on to see Google Chrome 2.0 dropping its beta tag. Surprisingly, Chrome was in beta for just three months whereas the Gmail launched four years back is still in its beta. It’s semantics that rules Google. There are a number of new features included in the Chrome 2.0 version. Google developed over its Chrome 2.0 beta released in January to get the refined version. Google Chrome basically a bowser that scores on its speed and simplicity. Chrome 1 version was a total unfit for a browser lacking rudimentary features of a browser like auto-fill, a full-screen mode, and extensions, evolved at this age. Chrome 2.0 has moved a little ahead adding features like full-screen mode, form auto-fill, and that the thumbnails are not visible in the New Tab page. Apart from these, the browser comes with a host of bug fixes and overall performance improvement. However, the new Chrome acts almost like the previous version that wouldn’t even provide the hint of changes if not pointed out.
This is our effort to bring in the feature-changes in Chrome 2.0 which could otherwise go unnoticed.
Let’s have a deeper look at the features
Full screen mode
For full screen press the F11 or select it from the wrench icon menu in the toolbar. The full screen seems a fancy as in the Full mode the browser controls disappear. You can’t see the tab or even the toolbar. There is no options for visit a new address. There is no access to the bookmarks. What you can see is the Chrome start page.
The only way to tweek is through keyboard shortcuts or the right-click menu. As Google explains you can watch videos and presentations in full-screen. Well, but Google needs to remember that all the competent videos and presentation supports full screen.
Auto-fill
Firstly, most of the browsers own this feature for years now. What’s interesting is that Chrome displays the possible choices below the field that you can choose. To delete thumbnails from the New Tab, click Remove Thumbnails, click the thumbnail you want to remove and click Done.
Now, if you have less than four thumbnail then removing one can remove all the thumbnails. There are no options for rearranging the thumbnails.
Browser Speed
Still the can be no complains about the browsers speed. It passes through most complex Web applications with ease and never bogs down. Although you might not feel the speed Google claims the new browser is even more faster and more stable than the version 1.0.
With all the top and nothing much improvements inside it is hard to say how the Chrome will show up in future.

Despite of the fact that Chrome is in lack of an extension system yet, (quite few people know) there are some pioneering add-ons existed already. e.g., Cleeki, has provided its add-on for Chrome. You can consider Cleeki as an alternative to IE8 accelerators, only superior. Select any text, and Cleeki can search/share/publish on the Internet and preview the results immediately in the same page. |
