Attorney General Jim Hood said his office is reviewing 162 identifiable records of registered Missisippi sex offenders provided by MySpace.
“MySpace has assured us that the sex offenders they reported to us have been removed from the site,” said Hood. “We are working with MySpace to improve and expand the effectiveness of protections for children under 18 on their site.”
How safe is MySpace really for teenagers and children?
I am strongly in favor of anonymity of internet in general but for a service like MySpace which caters primarily to teenagers and young adults, I think strong identification measures need to be put in place.
