Chapanar, a parole absconder for more than a year, couldn’t resist putting his picture on Myspace.com, most recently bragging about his newborn son.

Viewers of the Bay Area cable-access show “Fugitive Watch” found his profile on Myspace and calls poured in.

After officers staked him out at a West San Jose home about 4 p.m., he jumped 20 feet from a second-floor window, landed on the hood of a parked car and ran into a nearby Bonfair Market. Officers found him in the bathroom, said Steve Ferdin, executive producer of “Fugitive Watch”.

Chapanar, who served prison time for trying to run someone over but failed to report to his parole agent, was finally caught. via Mercury News
