Developers Chose Google, IBM as the Top Cloud Vendors

cloud-computing Software Developers selected Google as the top vendor for setup, infrastructure and application management in a Public Cloud and IBM was chosen as top choice for Private Cloud as per Evans Data’s released Cloud Development Survey 2010. According to 30 percent survey of over 400 software developers released end of June, 40% picked Google as the the leader in public cloud.

Janel Garvin, CEO of Evans Data commented that most of the developers want to see hybrid solution for the deployment of application down the road. He further added that these vendors are viewed as the top choice because of their security and reliability in terms of private and public cloud and we will see both of the vendors as market leaders in cloud computing in the foreseeable future.

The other interesting findings include:

  • 80% people think that it is important for the cloud providers to provide 100% backward compatibility.
  • 60% are worried about Govt’s geographical restriction for cloud deployment.
  • Most of the participants for survey wished better security feature for public cloud.
