Google Flight Simulator Hidden / Easter Egg in Google Earth

Marco discovered a nice Flight Simulator from Google hidden within Google Earth. You need the latest version of Google Earth for it. I had Google Earth version 4.1.x which didn’t work. You have to download the latest version 4.2. It provides You can activate it on different operating system as follows:
On Linux Press: Ctrl-Alt-a
On Windows Press: Ctrl-Alt-A
On Mac Press: Command/Open Appley Key + Option + A
Thanks Mike!
After you open for the first time you can subsequently open it from the Tools->Enter Flight Simulator menu option. You can use either a F16 or SR22, a high performance 4 seat propeller airplane. Both offer unique experience.
Flying over the Himalayas is captivating to say the least. The default airstrip is Kathmandu Runway 2.
BTW: I realized that if I continue along the ground then I can exit the runway and go into the fields and mountains without ever crashing! In other words you can also use the plane as a taxi and cruise along the mountains and plains. It is a pretty fun alternative experience, tumbling down the hills and all
I could operate it fine in a straight line on the air but need to work on changing direction.
The controls are very sensitive. You can get the full command reference here.
Have a blast!

Oh, it’s going, but slowly. I just accepted a new job, so I’m afraid that my small web management business is going to take somewhat of a back seat for a while. I’m still offering my services, but I won’t be advertising as heavily as I had originally planned. |

Thanks for pointing this out! Of all the possible easter eggs out there, I never imagined that there would be a flight simulator hiding in Google Earth. |
