Google GMail Gains 51% More Visitors in Brazil

ComScore, Inc, ace in measuring the IT world competition, unveiled a report on top web based email and instant messenger applications in Brazil. According to the  stirring revelation, Microsoft holds the leading position in each category with Google second in the lead showing significant gains. Google email service, Gmail  has made serious gains in Brazil as compared to last year. According to the, Google’s Gmail seems to making significant ground in Brazil. Google already has a widely popular social networking product Orkut dominating Brazil’s populace.

The study carried out in December shows 24 million Brazilians aged 15 and older visited web-based email sites from home and work locations. The majority accesses Hotmail. Google Interestingly, Gmail showed a significant hike with 8.4 million visitors, which is 51 percent gain over last year. Google’s Gmail is followed by Yahoo! Mail that accounts for 7.1 million visitors (up 20 percent). What’s more  intriguing is that 34 percent of Hotmail users also visited Gmail, while a far higher 81 percent of Gmail users also visited Hotmail.

The rise in Gmail’s popularity is a remarkable affair, especially for Microsoft. With Goolge’s Gmail is expanding its reigns, Microsoft has reasons for an heartache.
