apple-logo You may remember that Apple CEO Steve Jobs took 6 months Leave of Absence in 2009 for medical issues. During that period, Cook looked after day to day operation of Apple. Apple board of directors are thankful to him due to this. Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that Cook was awarded  $22 million Bonus package—which comes out to $3.6 million a month for the period of 6 month that he looked after in the absence of Steve.

Steve himself nominated his name for bonus. The bonus includes $5 million of cash, and 75,000 restricted stock units (half of which vest on March 10, 2011, half on March 10, 2012) which is worth about $17 million today.
