Google goes for real-time indexing

In a stunning revelation, Google is said to be developing a system for introducing real-time web publishing. The new system named as PubSubHubbub (PuSH) will enable the web publishers to submit their new content to Google for search indexing in real time. The new tool has been designed to syndicate content content in real-time to aggregators. PubSubHubBub is expected to be widely popular among web publishers looking to get their information into the market in a flash. Google’s PuSH, when unfurled, would be an outstanding phenomenon. It will not only move your content into Google Reader in a breeze, but also into the hands of the tens of millions of people searching Google every few hours. Well, you must be interested to know how the system will work?
PuSH is a syndication system based on the ATOM format. In this program a publisher tells the world about the Hub that will notify when the content is published. Further, the subscribers tell the Hub to deliver the content right away when the Publisher posts new content. When the Publisher publishes something and tells the Hub that it’s available, the Hub will deliver it to all the Subscribers. This will take as little as a few seconds.
In case Google can implements an indexing by PubSubHubbub program, the website will need to implement the technology and declare which Hub they can push at the top of each document. This will be the same as declaring where the published RSS feeds can be found. Google would subscribe to those PuSH feeds to discover new content when it’s published.
The PuSH program would be replacing the crawl that are required to discover the PuSH feeds to subscribe to. The real-time format would be used to implement some sort of spam control and allow the content to be pushed live to the index unvetted.
Benefits of PuSH
PuSH could be a revolutionary system for small publishers. Currently, there are several sites that get visited by Google once a week. With PuSH system it would be easy to get the content to Google automatically.
PuSH would be an open protocol, which implies not only Google but other search engines would also be benefited. The feeds would be visible to Yahoo and Bing as for Google.
Clearly, Google’s new PuSH system would be a giant leap towards real-time web than Twitter.
