chrome_logon it’s latest efforts to change the browser market scenario Google has come up with a new and improved beta version of its browser Chrome. Looking to capitalize on the speed factor, the new beta of this least used browser claims to be 30 percent faster. Chrome is a late entry into the browser market battling out the top-guns,  Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple’s Safari and Opera in the browser market. According to the stats by researcher Net Applications Chrome has just 2.6 percent of the browser market, where IE boasts of a 67.7 percent and Firefox stands a 22.5 percent share. The current release would be featuring  HTML 5 capabilities, an improved New Tab page and Omnibox, and 29 themes and more to take up the challenge to its competitor. Let’s have an insight into the features of Chrome 3.0.195.4 beta.

Focus on Open Video

The most significant move for Google’s beta browser is the inclusion of HTML5. With this Chrome would offer video-tagging and enable the users to work a number of things within Web video like links and other interactive elements. The lets you treat video more like Webpage. To add to the features, Google has also acquired On2 for its video codec. Well, all these are pointing out that Google is readying its browser to get into open video on a large scale.

Latest Omnibox

Chrome’s unique address and search bar, Omnibox has received a new thrust. The Omnibox now features an optimized drop-down menu that includes icons to help users to pick their suggested sites, searches, bookmarks and sites from their browsing history.

Cool Themes

If speed, stability and security are top priorities on Chrome’s list, the appearance was secondary all the way. For all those Chrome buffs dying to see Chrome in new look will have reasons to cheer. Chrome latest beta has pretty cool themes to enhance your browser experience. To have the glimpse of the themes you visit the Themes Gallery. However, there’s no big reason to be elated Google would be launching a pack of basic themes.

Customize the New Tab page

One of the most popular features in Google Chrome is the new tab. Now, when you create a new tab in Chrome it shows the thumbnails of the sites you visits the most frequently. These are like automatic bookmarks. In the new beta version you’ll be able to rearrange the thumbnails in any order you like just by dragging and dropping them. What’s more, you can pin down a particular site that you don’t visit often, but seems important.

Other Improvements

Working upon its speed the latest Chrome beta comes with improvements in JavaScript execution . Apart from that, there are number of features that would allow you to make the most of your network connection. Like for instance, if you open a new page when the other pages are loading, Google Chrome would prioritize the requests for the new page in terms of fetching text, images, and video for your new page.

Loading pages on this beta release would be faster than ever with better DOM bindings, DNS caching,  and using V8 for proxy auto-config.

With so much said and done, if wanna try your hands on Google Chrome beta release, go ahead

After more than five years officially in testing mode, Chrome is finally graduating from “beta.” Google Inc. says its e-mail service and three other applications in the Google Apps suite for businesses are now finished products in name as well as function.
